March Roundup!
Every month, I'm out and about across Southend West and Leigh as well as working hard in Westminster as your voice in Parliament.
As well as welcoming the Health Secretary to Southend and marking City Day, we opened the brand new Community Diagnostic Centre in the Victoria Centre!
Here's what I got up to recently!

My March Roundup!
As always, March was a very busy month with work in both Westminster and Southend West & Leigh. Here are SIX highlights of this month's work!
Celebrating Our City!
1
On 7 March, Southend had its second City Day, celebrating all that makes Southend great with celebrations stretching across the city! It was an amazing day out for me as I spent some time in Leigh, Westcliff, and the City Centre chatting with stallholders, local businesses, members of the public, and local councillors too!

Together for Mental Health
It was an honour to chair a roundtable this month in Parliament on the Men's Health Strategy, with focus on how we address male mental health and suicide. It was especially great to hear from Movember, Andy's Man Club, and the Samaritans who shared valuable insights.

Message: Invest in Us
One of the best parts of my job as the MP for Southend West and Leigh is that I get to champion our community. That's why I was so pleased to be a part of Southend's very first Investment Summit this month, brilliantly put together by Bayo Alaba and Southend City Council.
With more than 100 people in attendance and some great conversations and presentations, the summit was a huge success!
Care in the Community
4
Great to join local councillors, my fellow Southend MP Bayo, and NHS leaders and staff for the grand opening of Southend's brand new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) on 23 March! The CDC hopes to deliver 30,000 appointments every year - open early and late, seven days a week!

Helping Young People
Southend is getting a Youth Hub and Southend West and Leigh is getting a Best Start Family Hub at the Blenheim Family Centre. It was brilliant to welcome the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting, to Southend on Monday 30 March to chat about these successes and more with local families, business owners, and members of the public!

Casework Wins
Across March, my team and I helped constituents with over 1,100 new cases and answered more than 1,800 emails. Particular highlights included working with Essex Police to address hotspots of anti-social behaviour, raising a number of concerns about local trees to ensure both the longevity of our natural environment and that constituents' concerns are addressed, and supporting parents through the EHCP process.
